I’m a member of the Swillington Organic Farm CSA where we pick up our veg weekly in the walled garden. The variety of veg is amazing, the taste absolutely wonderful, and quantity in a full share is enough to see this mainly veggie family through the week. A full share routinely works out at about £5-8 per week less than if buying the same organic veg in supermarket. The growers and volunteers are very friendly/helpful!
I get my Swillington product from the Headingly market. They always have a large range on offer and Joe is always happy to give ideas on how to use the meats.
Swillington Farm does the best eggs I have ever tasted - I ate them soft-hard boiled with lettuce, as per HF-W's recipe, and I couldn't believe the taste. They have a stall at Leeds Farmers' Market every other Sunday, and presumably at other towns in the region.
Swillington Organic Farm is an excellent farm in east Leeds. Their meat - beef, chicken, lamb, mutton, pork and goat - is delicious, as are their eggs. You can buy it all from their farm shop on Thursday/Friday/Saturdays, or at local farmers markets.
Jo runs a great farm, and her meat has won a number of awards. There's also a community supported agriculture scheme running on the farm, producing fruit and veg for around 50 people.
