Hillside Farm sits between the river Lune estuary and the Irish Sea, on the edge of Morecambe Bay. Here we produce free range pigs from our British Saddleback herd, which is free to roam the fertile pastures, grazing on clover rich grass and wild flowers. We use no artificial fertilisers or chemicals on the farm, and being raised outdoors means that our pigs enjoy a healthy life without the use of drugs or other growth promoters. We sell our meat through our own shop, Foragers, and online at www.foragers.net
I have been using Foragers box delivery service now for around 6 months. The quality of the meat is exceptional and I really like the fact that is all comes from within 20 miles of where I live. The Foragers pork is farmed less than 2 miles from my home (I drive past the pigs each morning, on my way to work!) the lamb comes from around 5 miles away and the beef is from Langdale in Cumbria.
The service is exemplary. Each box is delivered free of charge to my house and any specific requirements are always met. If there is ever a problem with delivery, they phone and let me know in advance. I cannot recommend them strongly enough. They also have a shop in Carnforth, if you don't want to have to order a whole box at a time.
Farmers' Market in Lewes - Lewes
very good little market, Lewes is a lovely and very interesting town in the Sussex countryside and it has a great mix of shops, foodie places and places of historical interest to visit.
