I found Johnson's at a local Farmers Market. It is refreshing to find such a wide range of products on a small stall and at a very reasonable price. I normally go around Farmers Markets with envy looking at bread and cakes I can't eat! Even better that they know the ingredients of the products they are selling. I am looking forward to trying the goodies I purchased.
I received my first order from them recently, the packaging and presentation was superb and the contents even better. Their game is excellent quality and good value for money especially if you buy one of their special offers. It's great to see a company who deliver via mail order who care about the packaging they use and their customers views. I even had a follow up phone call to check I was happy with the order.
Chanctonbury Game sell a wide range of game at local farmers markets and at their shop in Washington. The meat is always excellent, a special favourite of mine are the pigeon breast. I have purchased pigeon breasts elsewhere and they never match the quality and taste and vlaue for money of Chanctonbury Game pigeon.
If you miss Martin at the many Farmers Market's he attends it's well worth a visit to his Farmshop. Compact but very well stocked. His meat and poulty is always very good value and tastes excellent. Martin can always tell you the source of his meat and poulty in stock, the sign of a good butcher. If you like organic and locally sourced food, you should take a trip to Boathouse. It's open on Sunday's too!
I first came across Cocoa Loco at a local Farmers Market. In my opinion their chocolate is far superior to any big name organic chocolate producers and very reasonably priced too. I have become addicted to their dark chocolate buttons. They are divine: rich but the chocolate is smooth and not at all bitter. Their brownies are highly recommended too. In fact I have tried and tested many of Cocoa Loco's products and I have been impressed with the quality and taste. It's so refreshing to be able to purchase good quality handmade organic foods that are totally natural and additive/colouring free with minimum packaging. They do mail order too so you don't have to miss out if you can't visit them at a Farmers Market or the many Food Fairs that they attend. However, it's worth going to see them so you can have a taste of their superb goodies, they are a friendly bunch too!
