Farm shop selling own produce like potatoes, cabbage and other seasonal produce from the farm and from elsewhere. Everything is clearly labelled with where it comes from. Fresh fish turns up by van once a week.

Ellis’s Hill Farm is home to WYSIPIG - What You See Is PIG. They have a small shop/ butchery on the farm where you also can get a cup of tea and a slice of cake. Wonderful pork in all types of cuts, anything from bacon and hock to half a pig jointed for the freezer. Traditional English breeds reared on homegrown wheat and barley and local pellets without any growth hormones etc. And you can tell by the quality of the meat!
They hold an open day once a month with hog roast and it's very nice to be allowed onto a proper working pigfarm (once saw piglets two minutes after being born!). Easy to miss if you don't know where it is, but worth a visit as long as your car can manage the track up to the farm. If you can't visit, then they also do mail order. Their prices are really good and they have a price list on their website. Highly recommended!

Very nice local meat! Their steaks are truly wonderful and if you're in luck, they'll grind up your mince then and there. Their smoked bacon is the best. Delicious fresh eggs.
The veg section is not great though and I don't often buy anything else apart from fresh meat and eggs. However, a new delicatessen counter has just been added and I will have to try this out next time. For what you get, the prices are very good. I will never go back to supermarket meat! Highly recommended.
