Hello, I’m Reggie and I’m the voice of local food. That's because I’m your voice. When you Reggie-ster (sorry) on this site, you will be able to get involved in helping promote and share what's great and sometimes, what's not so great about the food that's produced and sold around you. And, by shopping locally, with local suppliers you will also help the local economy.
There is always one person who is a moaner isn't there.
I came across The Organic Pantry at an event some years ago and found the staff to be absolutely fabulous and knowledgeable about Organic food.and they could not have been more helpful. I got one box that had a couple of items that were getting a bit 'tired' phoned them and got some extra items in the next box for nothing. I can not praise them enough. I do find that if you are polite, you tend to get politeness back. I get a regular newsletter from them, have been to the shop when passing, and the veg on display is alwyas fresh and enticing. They grow a lot of their own veg , work extremely hard, and I am certainly going to stay with them!!!
I first came across this meat when going to southsea farmers market it has more taste then supermarket meat and on par with price to the store holders are very friendly
first came across them at hampshire farmers market the people are friendly the beef is lovely and the price is on par with some supermarkets for there same premium cuts
We were recommended to this local organic poultry farm by neighbours in the village and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent and the turkey we bought was first class at a very reasonable price. I have spoken to several other local people who have bought from the farm and apart from one lady who slightly squeamish over seeing geese in a pen waiting to be despatched and dressed when she picked up her own bird, (what does she expect to see on a farm that rears and slaughters its own birds?) we have heard nothing but praise for the operation.
Recently had a proper sunday lunch that featured organic f.r. chicken from Swillington Organic Farm a farm that I’ve been meaning to try. Roasted it plain with butter and salt sprinkled liberally on skin to crisp it up. Wow, very favourable. like chicken is supposed to taste! The meal was complimented by some nice veg bought from the small farm shop on site. There’s a veg garden sort of opposite the farm shop car, in a walled garden. nice friendly person behind the counter in the shop.
